Steven van Lummel
Every year, TodaysArt invites a local artist from The Hague to present his or her work in the studio of the theater. This year, Steven van Lummel receives a carte blanche, meaning he can use the space as he wishes.
Steven is a powerful cultural actor and entrepreneur in The Hague and beyond, being the owner of the venue PiP. He is also an artist, writer and designer with an incredible imagination:
I want everything, but I don’t want to be the owner. I have a house, that’s crazy. I didn’t build it, but it is mine, I pay for it every month, but the bank owns it. So why doesn’t the bank sleep in my bed, or at least at the couch for a night? We can drink together or just listen to music. I am a good listener and cook a mean ketjap chicken. I don’t care about anything, that’s a lie. I care about my girlfriend, family, art and my city: The Hague. I’m not sick, but I don’t feel good, I mean I feel good, but not that good.
Come to see my work at TodaysArt all the way in the back of TAHS, and we can talk about things, either good or bad. They are both the same, but then different.
