Koen Herfst presents: DRUMLUST
For our spectacular opening night on Thursday, The Hague drummer Koen Herfst will premiere his brand new act ‘DRUMLUST’, for which he teamed up with young visual artist Roeland Schuijren (The Hague, 19). The show is the result of Koen’s interest in combining drums with the latest technology: his kit will be linked to an audiovisual system designed by Schuijren, providing live input to a full spectacle of light and visuals in De Electriciteitsfabriek.
Koen Herfst (36) is one of the most energetic and versatile drummers of The Netherlands. He is mostly known for his work with Armin van Buuren, with who he did two world tours in venues like Madison Square Garden (New York City) and the Etihad Stadium (Melbourne). Another highlight with Armin was coming down from the ceiling of the Amsterdam Arena (Ajax stadium) with his drum set.
Herfst plays in several groups like The Cards and Voodoo Chambers, hosts his own drum festival named ‘HERFSTFEST’ and co-organized the large ‘2000 Drummers on the Beach’ concert. Apart from playing the drums, Koen is a multi-instrumentalist and composer and recently released his second solo concept album ‘LEO’.
