Carla dal Forno
Carla dal Forno takes her audiences to a world of dark post-punk and ambient vocals with her melancholic, lo-fi synth-pop. The Australian composer and instrumentalist is currently based in London, from where she is self-producing, composing and performing her enchanting work.
After releasing her debut solo album in 2016, Dal Forno spearheaded the latter years of the Blackest Ever Black vanguard. Her most recent single, ‘So Much Better’ came out only last spring on her own DIY-label Kallista. The single sees the artist stride boldly into the abyss, all in with the history and tradition of British post-punk and independent music. Apart from working on solo work, dal Forno is also a member of the groups F ingers and Tarcar, and formerly cult Melbourne outfit Mole House.
Dal Forno’s compelling and minimalist shows are best brought in an intimate setting, and this is exactly where you will find her at TodaysArt 2019. Expect haunting, downcast tunes with dark, swirling synthesizers and detached rhythms, all with a finish of a cavernous echo.
