TodaysArt 2019: Consciousness

TodaysArt 2019: Consciousness

Fifteen years after our first festival landed in The Hague, we have woken up in a world that’s very different from when it all started. And while we were exploring the various ways in which technology has infiltrated our lives, we have learned a lot about ourselves as well. Now, it’s time to leave all those technological dystopian scenarios behind and look in the mirror. Welcome to TodaysArt 2019: “CONSCIOUSNESS.”

What is the role of humans in this digital age? How do we relate to Artificial Intelligence? And how can a new consciousness give meaning to the human mind? These are some of the questions we will explore this year at TodaysArt in our context program and festival exhibition.

For our art exhibition, we will return to The Electricity Factory in The Hague. This enormous, industrial former factory forms a perfect backdrop for the presented works. Expect many large-scale, immersive and often location-specific pieces and installations from local and international artists. Using light, technology and artificial intelligence, each work will highlight a different part of our human consciousness, and the ways in which humanity and technology are interconnected.
