Jim Zweerts & Mark Ridder
Presented by Azimuth
With this set, Jim Zweerts and Mark Ridder explore different relations between rhythmical patterns in both sound and visuals. Intuitively they play with contrast, synchronicity and interference between the different media.
The result is a raw mix of fragmented club sounds, glitches and percussion, accompanied by flickering and organic projections.
Jim Zweerts, aka fluqs, is a sound artist and electronic music producer based in The Hague. The industrial allrounder creates experimental soundscapes, but also collaborates with professionals from a wide range of fields, such as dance, theatre, installation art and video. Zweerts graduated from the Institute of Sonology of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
Mark Ridder is a visual artist who specializes in spatial installations. His work was showcased on festivals such as Amsterdam Light Festival and Toronto Light Festival.
This performance is presented in collaboration with Azimuth, an organization for the production and performance of electroacoustic music in the Netherlands.
