Jessica Ekomane’s practice unfolds around music and sound installations. The France-born, Berlin-based artist aims to find a physical and cathartic effect in her compositions, which are pieces of art and science at the same time.
She uses elements of psychoacoustics and gestalt theory, making her sound act as a transformative element for the performance space and the audience. This informs her work, which alternates between noise and melody, playing with our perception of rhythmical structures and the way these are affected by our surroundings.
