On the 24th of September professionals from the worlds of peace, justice and security come together with creatives, coders, techies, designers, artists and philosophers at WTHX. Thinkers and makers will join for a 12 hour rollercoaster ride of ideation and co-creation at The Pier in Scheveningen.

In small multidisciplinary teams, the attendees will formulate questions and prototype potential solutions for tomorrow’s issues. They will use the themes peace, justice, and security as their starting point. To boost inspiration, expert guest speakers will feed knowledge and inspiration.

Program

Four sessions, each with 2 or 3 speakers, 2 cases (prototyping workshop) and group discussion.

10:00 Welcome

10:10 First session, the ‘what’: “Defining the questions on peace, justice, security + code” Think-tank “WTHX” introducing speakers from the humanitarian world, followed by the prototyping workshop.

12:30 Lunch

13:30 Second session, the ‘how’: “Defining the tools; code, cyber security, hacking, the internet” Think-tank “TekTok” introducing speakers from the technological field, followed by the prototyping workshop.

15:50 Break

16:00 Third session, the ‘why’: “Technology is the answer, but what was the question?” Think-tank “When You See Me Again, It Won’t Be Me.” introducing speakers within art, science and philosophy, followed by the last prototyping workshop

18:30 Dinnertime

19:30 Fourth session “Highlighting & sharing” Presentations and discussion with conclusions and reflections with speakers, participants and moderators.

21:00 Performance in collaboration with the TodaysArt Festival

22:00 End
