Helmut Smits (1974) is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He is a ceaseless producer of ideas that comment on situations and objects in a frank and often humorous way. By observing in a straightforward, critical and witty way, he sheds new light on all sorts of subjects. The newly commissioned performance at TodaysArt, ‘Waterfall’, consists of a choreography of power shovels unloading water that they picked up from the sea.
