4DSOUND: Techno Is Space

In addition to the 24-hour ‘Circadian’ programs, the presentation at TodaysArt.NL Festival 2015 will close on Sunday evening with a showcase of 4DSOUND: Techno Is Space, featuring performances by Oscar Mulero and Cassegrain. The impressive industrial Electriciteitsfabriek, a former turbine of E.ON’s power plant of 40x40x60 meters, provides the ideal space for 4DSOUND.

4DSOUND: Techno Is Space explores spatial forms and energetic movements in techno. The performances highlight the integration of wearable tactile bass technology from SubPac with 4DSOUND’s spatial system. Veteran Spanish DJ and producer Oscar Mulero will perform a highly charged spatial reworking of his acclaimed album ‘Muscle and Mind’ on Pole Group, while Berlin-based duo Cassegrain delve deeper into the spatially sensitive psycho-techno of their powerful recent LP ‘Centres of Distraction’ on Prologue.

4DSOUND is a laboratory and cultural collective exploring Spatial Sound as a medium. Since 2008, it has developed an innovative Spatial Sound technology that has significantly improved and expanded the possibilities to create, perform and experience sound spatially. 

4DSOUND is a fully omnidirectional sound environment, where the listener can appreciate Spatial Sound images in a virtually unlimited spatial continuum. Sound can move infinitely distant or intimately close to the listener: it moves around, as well as above, beneath, in between or right through them. A 4DSOUND environment allows for a natural reproduction of sound sources in a spatial environment. The loudspeakers are completely transparent: instead of listening to speakers, one is listening to space.  

For this performance, there is a limited capacity, therefore reservations are required. Reservations can be made via the info section on our website, under 4DSOUND reservations. A valid TodaysArt ticket is required to make a reservation.
