Elema Cabrera Vacas is a Spanish architect who will give a lecture about the failure of Spanish sea side resorts.
Elena Cabrera Vacas and Sander Laheij founded AMMA architects in 2010. In 2011 her research proposal ‘BeNI-YORK versus Marbella BEACH – Devouring Urbanism on the Spanish Coast’ was awarded with the 5th Jaap Bakema Foundation fellowship. Thanks to the support of the Jaap Bakema Foundation, the analysis concluded with a lecture at the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) in Rotterdam and a publication on the A10 new European architecture magazine in January 2012 (issue no.43).
