Edition Zero in Tokyo a huge success Edition Zero in Tokyo a huge success

We are beyond excited to inform you that the pilot edition of which took place in Tokyo from the 22nd to the 24th of November was a great success.

The event was organized by local organizations and partners with the ambition to introduce a new urban festival format in Japan and to develop an annual TodaysArt festival in Tokyo and other Japanese cities starting in 2015. Edition Zero took place in Warehouse TERRADA on Tokyo’s Tennoz Isle. TERRADA’s facilities around this area were arranged for performance and exhibition programs and talk sessions. The facilities included a large-scale warehouse area along a canal, Bond Street, the center of re-development of Tennoz, and an idle office space. The installations and performances in previously off limits buildings provided audiences extraordinary experiences.

All programs were freely accessible. The performance program consisted of Timeline, the latest live mutation of Underground Resistance accompanied with a dj set by Mark Flash and the Japanese premiere of Canto Ostinato Audio Visual. The exhibition program consisted of installations, screenings and public space interventions by Skeletonics inc., Matthijs Munnik, Gabey Tjon a Tham, Joris Hoogeboom & Teun Verkerk, Lernert & Sander, Anouk De Clercq, Collective Works, Tanja Busking & Dayna Casey and other artists.

TodaysArt would like to thank Warehouse TERRADA Co.,Ltd., the Creative Industries Fund NL, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo, the U.S. Embassy in Japan, The Nippon Foundation, the Japan Media Arts Festival, and all productional and technical partners for playing a key role in the realization of this pilot edition of
