Create your own music video for Roy Tamaki’s Wonderful

For the music video for 'Wonderful' the Japanese rapper Roy Tamaki was filmed performing the track in front of a green screen. For TodaysArt 2014, Tamaki asks you to use the footage to make their own creations.

For the music video for ‘Wonderful’ (created by Roy Tamaki + Kurando Furuya) the Japanese rapper Roy Tamaki was filmed performing the track in front of a green screen. This footage was then cut into roughly five-second shots which were distributed to 43 different video artists. They worked on the shots however they wanted and the results were then pieced back together. The approximately four-minute final video features all manner of video techniques and the personalities of artists from range of fields bumping up against each other.

This project is part of ‘Beyond The Technology’, a program of video-based works which received awards at the 17th edition of the Japan Media Arts Festival festival. New modes of expression made possible by the continuing evolution of digital technology have produced today’s sense of great diversity. This program features the sensibilities of the creators and imaginative powers they share with regard to our contemporary world through the introduction of thirteen works. We are very honoured to collaborate with the Japan Media Arts Festival this year. The presentations at TodaysArt are supported by bunkachō (The Agency for Cultural Affairs Japan). Roy Tamaki and Kurando Furuya’s ‘Wonderful’ was selected by the jury in the Entertainment Division at the 17th edition of the Japan Media Arts Festival festival.

For TodaysArt 2014, Tamaki asks artists and (online) visitors to use the ‘Wonderful’ green screen footage to make their own creations. Below you’ll find a WeTransfer link to download the footage. You are able to send in your creations by sending back the file via WeTransfer to tim@todaysart.nl.
