Nele Buys

Nele Buys has worked in various companies and organizations, achieving experience and expertise in fields such as sales, logistics, cultural marketing and community building. Together with her husband she founded ‘Consouling Sounds’, a publishing house and platform for experimental music, in 2007. Consouling Sounds began as a record label specialising in post, doom and ambient music, but quickly evolved to now include an artist management agency, a sister record label as well as a celebrated record store and coffee shop in Ghent, Belgium. The label has expanded its business around the globe with a distribution network encompassing Europe and The United States. Shaped by its relentless focus on exploring the darker, moodier and harsher sides of music as well as by its solid stable of artists – whose Belgian contingent includes such local luminaries as By Barst, de portables, and of course, Amenra -, the independent imprint for whom style is just as crucial as substance stands proud as a testament that questioning the status-quo pays off.
