Auntie Flo

"One thing I get asked constantly is: What genre of music is this?"

Auntie Flo

One of the most truly original production talents of recent times, Auntie Flo offers a gateway to lesser-known strands of music that need exploring. Auntie Flo has become a central figure in the ‘new strand of club music fusing electronic and world influences alongside the likes of Daphni, Four Tet, Romare, Sinkane and John Wizards’ (Joe Muggs, The Wire, 2013). Originally from Glasgow but now residing in London, he has been travelled the world extensively pushing his unique ‘Afro-futurist’ sound either with the Auntie Flo live show or solo as a DJ. Tours include Africa, Australia, Cuba, North America and regularly in Europe and the UK. Festival appearances include Glastonbury, T in the Park, MoMA PS1 Warm Up, Lovebox, Dimensions, Garden Festival, Latitude and many more. DJ appearances include Panorama Bar, Trouw, Fabric and residencies in Glasgow’s Sub Club and London’s Plastic People. He has also performed two live sessions for BBC Radio 1, two Boiler Room broadcasts and released a variety of DJ mixes for the likes of Resident Advisor, Groove Magazine and Little White Earbuds.
