Abner Preis – Hacking The Pier

"That idea of dedication, of putting myself out there, beating myself up, really drives me."

Abner Preis – Hacking The Pier

“Hacking The Pier” is an interactive tour through the inside and outside space of the Pier.  The purpose is to discuss history , evoke creativity, expression and emotion through the art of play. Our journey will take us through a series of games, through which we will create a collaborative exhibition and a perspective into the action of hacking the space in which we live. These games are part fun and part rebellion; we’ll leave our traces in the landscape and explore some ideas of The Situationists International (SI) and the Zero groups. In “a spontaneous” exhibition, the participant will be asked to find an object, and each object will be then be presented as a work of art in an exhibition. Once the work is has been exposed, the exhibition will be complete with a celebratory shot of Jack Daniels (the preferred drink of the Zero artists…and many other artists).
