Jan Edler studied architecture at the Technical University Aachen and at the Bartlett School of Architecture London. He graduated in 1997 as a diploma architect. Since 1996 he has worked as a co-founder for the Berlin based art group Realities:United

Jan and Tim Edler started to collaborate as part of the Berlin based trans-disciplinary art group “Kunst und Technik” (1997-2000). In 2000 the brothers founded „realities:united“ as a „studio for art and architecture“. Since the Edlers alias realities:united have built a unique reputation for their spectacular art and media extensions to buildings all across the globe by some of the most prominent figures of contemporary architecture like Peter Cook, Will Alsop, Foster & Partners, Coop HimmelB(l)au, Bjarke Ingels, Diller Scofidio & Renfro, Nieto Sobejano, Mass Studies or WOHA Architects.
