Peder Mannerfelt has managed to make a name for himself in the electronic music circuit.
Mannerfelt is mainly known as a member of duo Roll The Dice (who performed at TodaysArt 2012), collaborator with Fever Ray and the techno-oriented alias The Subliminal Kid, which he launched almost a decade ago (though his work stretches back another ten years before that). Over the last few years, the Swedish producer has released a series of superb works and already notorious live sets and remixes (Massive Attack, Bat for Lashes and others). The debut full-length under his given name, however, is much more abstract – a press release for the record claims Mannerfelt’s intent is to “crush the listener into a perfect, metal cube,” going on to use phrases like “sub-bass nihilism,” “aural mayhem” and “sonic acid rain” to describe the LP’s sound.
