Matthijs Munnik – Heliosphere
Matthijs Munnik researches colour combinations, patterns, and rhythms to create spectacular visual effects in the form of performances and installations which play with the perception of spectators.
‘Heliosphere’ is a light installation that transforms solar wind activity into an artificial Aurora. Real time data on solar wind activity and the strength of the interplanetary magnetic field generate a dynamic light composition on water vapour screens. The installation connects the visitor to the cosmic weather in a sensorial way, by creating a man-made “natural” phenomena.
Matthijs Munnik’s work will be on display as part of the exhibition ‘the fluidity aspect’, which runs from the 25th of September until the 5th of October. Find more information about the exhibition here.
