'Sphæræ' is an inflatable multi-dome pavilion designed by Cocky Eek for immersive experiences, synaesthetic compositions, new imaginations and transdisciplinary experimentation.

The spherical space can act as an instrument to explore uncharted territories in the phenomena of light, sound and movement. At TodaysArt, 'Sphæræ' will host a program composed by Synergetica Lab with works and performances by Paul Prudence, Francisco López, Robert Curgenven, Evelina Domnitch + Dmitry Gelfand, Bas van Koolwijk, Erfan Abdi, Martijn van Boven, Cocky Eek, Nenad Popov, Joris Strijbos + Yamila Rios and Dieter Vandoren + Mariska de Groot. 'Sphæræ' has been made possible by the Creative Industries Fund NL and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.

Cocky Eek MA (b. 1966, NL) studied Fashion Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts (1993) and graduated in with a final collection ‘Fashion is so ugly you have to change it every half year’. She presented several experimental collections at amongst Le Salon des Jeunes Stylistes in Hyeres (FR). She worked as a guest lecturer (HKU, Rietveld Academy and Konstfack -Stockholm), and gave masterclasses (MA European Fashion & Textile Design, the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg, and the Curtin University
of Technology in Perth). Since 2001 she has been an active member of FoAM (Brussels) and did the spatial designs of responsive environments as Tgarden, TxOom and TRG (presentations include V2 and Ars Electronica 2001). Since the millennium her work has been mainly revolving around lightweight spatial compositions and her favorite media have become wind and air. This resulted in floating or flying experiments or large, voluminous forms. Her Human-Kite performances were seen along various coastal lines, such as the Oerol Festival (NL) and the International Kite Festival in Weifang in China. She is co-founder of FoAM (Amsterdam 2005) whose main focus is human-plant inter-relations. One of their sprouts Boskoi, a project on urban foraging received an honorary mention Prix Ars Electronica 2011, was presented at ISEA and implemented in many local community’s. With Schweigman& she developed two contemporary theatre pieces; Frame (presented in Shanghai 2012) and Blaas (Oerol, Torino, Boulevard, Utrecht 2013). Eek is one of the core teachers of the ArtScience Interfaculty (NL). Cocky Eek lives and works in Amsterdam.
