This is one of the two pieces performed by Compagnie Retouramont (the other piece is performed at De Kroon, titled Vide Accordé). While dancing, the urban environment reveals perspectives and boundaries which, as mere passers-by, we often ignore. Any vertical structure becomes a support for movement to spread out. These dancers plan to reveal them by confronting them, playing with their contours so as to appropriate and mingle with the spaces of their immediate daily environment. Colluding with the architectural material, whether leaning against a wall or strongly anchored to the ground, the dancers build an ethereal architecture, turning our everyday spaces into a playground for expressions. The dancers play with verticality. The fall of bodies steers the dance, and when it ends, the vertigo persists, leaving the audience tottering.
