@ CENTRALE BIBLIOTHEEK ......... FRIDAY, SATURDAY - CONTINUOUShttp://www.villanuts.nl I, ball deals with identity and perception. Several images of eyes are projected onto six shop-windows. Tracking every movement, the eyes observe any passersby. In an ordinary situation, the pedestrian would peer at the window, but this piece inverts reality, swapping the audience for the exhibit.
One vs 20.000 is a new-media installation in the shape of an oversized bed with a horizontal projection screen hanging above. Anyone lying on the bed will see themselves constantly under the threat of being eaten by thousands of digital worms. The only rescue is physical action. The installation alludes to the relationship between the (passive) modern man and our possessions.
Narcissus Pool, created specially for TodaysArt 2008, deals with the subject by countering physical appearance with self-image. The piece questions the absoluteness of the perceived world. For how long will a person consciously construct a self-image that does not beautify one at all?
Tafeltje Dekje is a multi-user entertainment table created for TodaysArt 2008. The audience will have the chance to play specially-created games with this original, alternative interface.
