The stylish white city hall of The Hague, designed by architect Richard Meyer, will function as a public space gallery when 22 of the world’s finest graphic designers and illustrators, curated by Maxalot Gallery from Barcelona – an internationally renowned gallery
which showcases graphic design as a contemporary art-form – will use the big white surfaces of the structure as their canvas. Through hi-end projection equipment the building will be lit up by artworks especially created for this show, changing it into an exhibition space for the two nights of the festival.
This year, the city hall will be used in four ways. First of all, works of art that perfectly fit the shape of the building will be projected onto the Spuiplein-side of the building during the | Slide Show.
Secondly, for the Video Art Show Maxalot introduces a revolutionary way of projecting video that also fits the shape of the building and is accompanied by sound.
Thirdly, for the Live Art Show four artists will create an artwork via a live-drawing installation whereby they can literally paint the building using full colour video projectors, a computer and touch-screen and creative software of choice.
And lastly, ISO120 will activate the Slideshow LCD, which projects beautiful photographs that were inspired by the holy Indian Shiva Lingam stones.
So, you can watch the following shows: Slide Show from 20.00 – 01.00, Live Art Show from 20.00 – 23.00, Video Art Show from 23.00 – 01.00 and Slideshow LCD from 20.00 – 01.00. |
